Dreamworks were looking for a creative way to promote their 2019 animated feature film How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World by using Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who voiced one of the characters in the film. They conceived of the idea of imagining what might have happened in 2010 if Toothless the Dragon had auditioned for GoT. Working closely with Dreamworks' President of Marketing Jim Gallagher, WaittMedia developed the creative, contributing to the writing, storyboarding and visualization of the script through animatics and previz. WaittMedia's Chris directed the online skit, as well as writing many of the gags. The video was an instant hit, going viral and racking up 100 million+ views to date. The piece helped to promote the film, which became the largest grossing of the series and the biggest commercial hit of 2019 thus far, with a worldwide gross of over $500 million.
